A Unique Approach to Healing

In 1986 I began my career as a licensed Occupational Therapist. Through unique life experiences my practice deepened and eveolved in positive and unexpected ways.

Early in my career I was frustrated with only “getting so far” in sessions with my patients. I knew something was missing from my treatment tool bag. During this time, I became aware of Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and Myofascial Release (MFR), however I did not know the benefits they could offer patients, yet.

During my first pregnancy in 1995 I was experiencing pain. It was at this point that I sought out a practitioner of CST and MFR. The moment the therapist touched me I knew what had been missing from my treatment tool bag.

In 1996 I began taking every course I could in CST and MFR. Over my years of practice I have pursued advanced coursework in both with a greater focus on Craniosacral Therapy. This lighter touch soft tissue approach, I felt, provided the most respect for the body to address tightened soft tissue structures as well as optimally addressing the sensitivity of the central nervous system (CNS).

Healing Philosophy

It became apparent that these strategies could benefit patients of all ages and at all stages of life. I found holding space with this hands-on approach, and waiting for the soft tissue's unwinding response, was highly beneficial for my patients. When combined with mindfulness, visualization and grounding strategies deep and permanent mobilization of the restricted structures unfolded. In addition, there is a deeper relaxed balance in the regulation of the central nervous system.

Soft tissue mobility, muscular softening, increased body balance and symmetry, deep calming, reduced pain and increased functioning are the outcomes for my clients.

From the start of my career respect for the whole person, addressing mind, body and spirit, has driven my lifelong learning. For my logo I envisioned incorporating the tree of life and healing hands, or touch. I have a deep appreciation of nature and the grounding calm it offers. The hands supporting the tree of life represent my palpation skills, my touch. This is the foundation of the treatment you will experience on your journey toward healing. The tree of life, across many traditions, represents growth, wisdom, strength and resilience which I guide my patients to discover and build on.

My practice is built on the understanding that true healing requires addressing the whole person. Through careful listening, thorough assessment, and skilled hands-on treatment, I help clients tap into their innate healing abilities to restore function and improve their quality of life.

What Makes This Approach Different

Comprehensive Assessment

Every session begins with an in-depth exploration of your past medical history, current symptoms, and functional limitations. This comprehensive approach helps identify the root causes of your discomfort, not just the symptoms.

Skilled Analysis

Drawing on extensive knowledge of the human body's systems and their interactions, analysis of your posture and movement patterns helps understand how various structures in your body may be contributing to your pain or dysfunction.

Targeted Treatment

Through skilled palpation, listening to your body through touch to identify specific areas of tension, restriction, and compromise. This information guides the selection of the most effective myofascial and soft tissue releases for your unique needs.

Holistic Support

Treatment doesn't end when you leave the office. Stretches, exercises, and body mechanics guidance are incorporated into your daily routine to help maintain and extend the soft tissue mobility gained during treatment sessions.
